Desde esta media noche la actividad de estiba y desestiba del puerto de Valencia está parada, tanto este jueves como el viernes, por la huelga anunciada por los representantes del comité de empresa tras no fructificar las negociaciones sobre el convenio colectivo.
Este miércoles era la última oportunidad para evitar la huelga pero la Sociedad Anónima de Gestión de Estibadores Portuarios (Sevasa), y la representación de los trabajadores no han conseguido llegar a un acuerdo. Aunque todo apunta a que las posiciones comienzan a aproximarse.
El motivo de fondo de la huelga es que los trabajadores (Coordinadora del Mar tiene la mayoría de la representación sindical) piden que el convenio colectivo recoja las actividades complementarias que realizan desde hace años.
Desde Sevasa, en un primer momento se señaló que no era una actividad que estuviera recogida en el convenio marco de Puertos del Estado. Sin embargo, la empresa ahora se muestra abierta a recogerlas, «siempre y cuando mejoren los costes y la calidad de estos servicios complementarios», han explicado fuentes de Sevasa.
Los paros se llevarán a cabo en horas alternas, según han confirmado estas mismas fuentes.

Since midnight the stowage activity of Valencia’s port has ceased for both this thursday and friday, following the strike announced by the representatives of the committee after the failure of negotiations surrounding the collective agreement.
This wednesday was the last chance to avoid the strike but the Anonimous Asociation of Longshoremen Management (Sevasa), and the representation of the workers haven’t managed to reach an agreement. But everything looks like positions are beginning to come close to a solution.
The motive behind the strike is that workers (Coordinadora del Mar has the mayority of the sindical representatives) ask for the collective agreement to involve the complementary activities they perform since many years.
Sevasa, in a first moment stated that they weren’t activities that the framework agreement of Ports of State included. However, the business is now open to receiving them, “provided that the costs and quality of these additional services improves”, sources of Sevasa explained.
The strikes will take place on alternate hours, according to these same sources.
